Parent Annual Giving

Dear Parents,

Thank you for partnering with us this year to ensure your child continues to grow spiritually, independently, and academically. The philosophy of our founding principal, Sr. Lillian McCormack, SSND, of self-help and self-dignity has continued to guide how we do things. We create an environment where everyone not only belongs, but also thrives. Each of our “blue roses” has God-given gifts that we recognize and celebrate. Our ultimate goal is to help students reach their full potential by setting high expectations and providing the support they need for success.

Our Parents’ Annual Giving drive (PAG) will take place in the coming month. Although we hope the generosity of past benefactors will ensure we are able to carry out our mission, we also need the help of parents. As you know with your own family’s finances, the cost of living increases every year. It is no different for St. Michael Special School as we face increases in utility costs, insurance benefits, and other expenses. We have been fortunate in raising tuition very little over a number of years. This keeps St. Michael affordable and thriving. Your support of PAG will allow us to remain a community of diverse neighborhoods and economic circumstances.

To keep St. Michael socio-economically diverse and affordable, our tuition for the 2016-2017 school year was $4,622.00. Soon I will be asking you to do your best to help cover the true cost of your child’s education at St. Michael by contributing half of the gap amount, which is $4,096. All PAG gifts are tax deductible.

While I understand not every family is in a position to make up the full difference, my goal is that every family participate in the PAG drive.

In the coming weeks, I will send you a pledge card and additional information. Pledging begins March 20th. We are asking for all pledges by March 31st and donations by May 19th. Donations may be made by check, credit card, or payment plan. If we do not hear from you by March 31st,  a class captain (another parent from your child’s class) will call to follow up with you, to answer any questions you may have about our drive, and to encourage your participation.
